Introduction

This programme will acquaint participants with in-depth understanding of various knowledge areas that are required of banking professionals. Participants will be equipped with the knowledge of the various banking products, operational aspects and various technology and regulatory requirements.

It’s designed to educate bank staff, accountants, finance managers and other managers with little or no knowledge of handling banking activities as well expose modern trends in banking transactions. Participants will be provided with essential management and operational technology skills required to work effectively and efficiently.

Workshop Objectives

Explain the customers’ rights and duties
Explain the bankers rights and duties
List, describe and discuss the documents needed to open various accounts
Open and close accounts in line with regulatory requirements
Explain the Nigeria banker’s clearing system
Pay and collect cheques in line with regulations
Identify different types of negotiable instruments in line with the bill of exchange act
Discuss the concepts of sale and marketing in the business of banking
Differentiate between marketing and sales
Identify the necessary actions to be taken in determination of banker and customer relationship

Training Methodology

This course will be conducted physically and virtually simultaneously, with formal presentations and an interactive training manual. It will be delivered by seasoned trainers with vast experience in their respective fields of practice. The course is taught through a mix of practical activities, theories, group activities, and case studies. The session will be wrapped up by an industry expert to share practical experience related to the course topic, and a Q&A session with the participants.
